About me
Professionally, I am a freelance software engineer and solution architect; I have to admit though I’m not very keen on the use of the A-word in IT even though it seems to be being used every more frequently. Hence, I’d much rather be called a software engineer, developer, or tecchie… although geek and nerd sometimes fit the bill.
I have a broad range of experience in technologies, although most recently in Java and open source, it also includes technologies as diverse as GUPTA SQL-Windows/Centura, Vision Jade (a.k.a. Versata) and Forte (the real one - not the silly IDE)… not forgetting the staple diet of C++ and Microsoft stuff.
This blog is a dumping ground of things that I either want to remember or that I think may be of some use to others. In essence, whilst this blog is about my views on software development, don’t take everything I say too seriously.
